FENCING CHITTAWAY BAY

Fencing And Gates For Chittaway Bay's Low-Lying, Lake-Edge Blocks

Colorbond, aluminium, glass pool, timber and security fencing installed across Chittaway Bay, built for ground that can go under water.

Fencing For Chittaway Bay Homes

Chittaway Bay is a small suburb on the western edge of Tuggerah Lake, about six kilometres south-south-east of Wyong, with Chittaway Road running through it past the local shops and tavern. It sits beside Berkeley Vale, Kangy Angy and Chittaway Point.

It is low ground beside a lake, and the lake rises. NSW SES has issued flood warnings for Chittaway Bay and Chittaway Point more than once, and Central Coast Council notes that foreshore land around Tuggerah Lakes can stay flooded for up to four days.

A fence here can sit in water for days, and floodwater carries debris. Council’s floodplain rules expect fencing to withstand floodwater, and to let water through where it crosses a boundary. That is why we look at footings, finishes and the gap under the fence before the panel.

We install Colorbond, aluminium slat, aluminium tubular, timber, security, and glass and aluminium pool fencing across Chittaway Bay, plus gates. We also fence Berkeley Vale, Tuggerah, Lisarow, Bateau Bay and other suburbs across the Central Coast.

Why Choose Our Fencing In Chittaway Bay?

On low lake-edge ground a fence is only as good as its footings and its finish. We check the lot’s flood status and ground conditions at the quote, so the design suits the site and not just the boundary.

We can help with fencing for:

  • Replacing timber and paling fences that have rotted or leaned at ground level
  • Colorbond and powder-coated aluminium, which do not rot or need painting
  • Open or raised-rail designs on flood control lots
  • Post footings set for low, wet ground
  • Privacy screening for yards and outdoor living areas
  • Pool barriers built to the NSW requirements, in glass or aluminium
  • Driveway and pedestrian gates, including custom steel

Fully licensed and insured, NSW contractor licence 314691C. Australian made materials, including COLORBOND® steel from BlueScope.

Our Chittaway Bay Fencing Process

Reading The Ground And The Flood Status Before We Price

On low ground the site visit is mostly about water. Where it collects, how soft the ground is and whether the existing fence has already leaned or rotted at the base all change the footings, and the footings change the price.
The two questions worth settling early are whether your lot carries flood controls, and whether the last fence failed from the ground up.
Whether it is a side fence, a full boundary replacement or a pool barrier, you get a fixed price in writing and one point of contact from the first call through to handover.

Clear Fencing From Quote To Installation

  • We talk through which boundary, what height you want and how the yard gets used
  • We walk the line and check ground conditions, drainage, gate positions and any flood constraints
  • We recommend materials and finishes that suit low, wet ground, and give you the options side by side
  • We give you a fixed price in writing, with the gates included
  • We remove the old fence, set out, dig and concrete the footings, then install the panels and gates
  • We check the gate swing and latch, and take the old materials away

Chittaway Bay Fencing FAQs

Steel and aluminium suit it best because neither rots when it gets wet. Colorbond fencing and powder-coated aluminium tubular fencing are the two we install most on low ground, and timber fencing is the weak point at ground level. Post footings matter as much as the panel.

Many standard boundary fences do not, but a fence on a flood control lot is not exempt development, and in some flood-affected areas Council can require a development application for solid, continuous fences. Central Coast Council is the authority to confirm with before work starts. If it is a dividing fence, the Dividing Fences Act 1991 also applies.

On a flood control lot, yes. Central Coast Council’s development control plan says a fence on a flood control lot must not redirect or interrupt the flow of surface water, and it sets a minimum opening of 100 millimetres under the bottom rail. Your lot’s flood status is shown on its Section 10.7 planning certificate, and we flag it at the quote.

It can, because no fence is flood-proof. Footings, finish and design make a large difference. Steel and powder-coated aluminium do not rot when wet, posts can be set for low ground, and open or raised-rail designs let water pass instead of leaning on the fence. We talk through the trade-offs at the quote.

Yes. We install pool barriers built to the NSW requirements, in glass pool fencing and aluminium pool fencing. A pool barrier must be at least 1.2 metres high from finished ground level, a boundary fence forming part of it must be 1.8 metres, and nothing climbable can sit within the 90 centimetre non-climbable zone. Gates open outwards and must self-close and self-latch from any open position.

Cost depends on the material, the height, the length of the run, the number of gates and the ground and flood conditions on the lot. Because those vary block to block, we quote on site for free rather than guessing.

We fence Chittaway Bay, Berkeley Vale, Tuggerah, Lisarow, Bateau Bay, Killarney Vale, Wyong and the surrounding Central Coast. Full coverage is listed on our Where We Serve page.
