Fencing And Gates For Point Clare’s Foreshore Strip And Bushland Edge

Fencing For Point Clare Homes

Point Clare is a long, narrow suburb on the western shore of Brisbane Water, about four kilometres south-west of Gosford. It runs for roughly 2.8 kilometres along a strip of land between the water and Brisbane Water National Park, with Brisbane Water Drive and the railway line running through it.

That puts salt air and tidal water on one side and bushland on the other. A fence here may have to cope with both.

Surface water is part of the picture. Council’s drainage study for Point Clare records houses flooded in storms, with Brisbane Water Drive impassable at the height of one event. Where a lot is flood affected, the fence has to let water pass, and Council asks for a gap of at least 100 millimetres under the bottom rail.

Backing onto bushland matters too. On bushfire-prone land, a fence built as exempt development has to use non-combustible materials or hardwood, which is one reason Colorbond steel suits the bush side of the suburb.

We install Colorbond, aluminium slat, aluminium tubular, timber, security, and glass and aluminium pool fencing across Point Clare, plus gates. We also fence Gosford, West Gosford, Kariong, Davistown and other suburbs across the Central Coast.

Why Choose Our Fencing In Point Clare?

On a Point Clare block the three things that decide the job are where the lot sits against the water, whether it backs onto bush, and where the street frontage is. We check all three at the quote, because they set the material, the footings and the approvals.

We can help with fencing for:

  • Replacing old timber and paling boundaries on Point Clare blocks
  • Colorbond fencing on bushland boundaries
  • Colorbond and powder-coated aluminium for foreshore blocks exposed to salt
  • Flood-affected lots, with the gap under the bottom rail Council requires
  • Privacy screening for courtyards and decks
  • Pool barriers built to the NSW requirements, in glass or aluminium
  • Driveway and pedestrian gates, including custom steel

Fully licensed and insured, NSW contractor licence 314691C. Australian made materials, including COLORBOND® steel from BlueScope.

Our Point Clare Fencing Process

Reading The Lot Before We Price The Fence

On the site visit we look at three things: where the block sits against the water, whether it backs onto bush, and how the ground runs. Each one changes the material, the footings or the approvals, and so the price.
The two questions worth settling early are whether your lot carries flood or bushfire controls, and how open or private you want the fence to be.
Whether it is a boundary fence, a privacy screen or a pool barrier, you get a fixed price in writing and one point of contact from the first call through to handover.

Clear Fencing From Quote To Installation

  • We talk through which boundary, what height you want and how the yard gets used
  • We walk the line and check ground levels, drainage, gate positions and any flood or bushfire constraints
  • We recommend materials and finishes that suit the lot, and give you the options side by side
  • We give you a fixed price in writing, with the gates included
  • We remove the old fence, set out, dig the footings, then install the panels and gates
  • We check the gate swing and latch, and take the old materials away

Point Clare Fencing FAQs

COLORBOND steel is non-combustible, which is why Colorbond fencing is the usual choice where a block backs onto bush. On bushfire-prone land, a fence built as exempt development must use non-combustible materials or hardwood. We check your lot’s bushfire status at the quote.

Yes. Central Coast Council’s development control plan says a fence on a flood control lot must not redirect or interrupt the flow of surface water, and it sets a minimum opening of 100 millimetres under the bottom rail. Your lot’s flood status is shown on its Section 10.7 planning certificate, and we flag it at the quote.

Many standard boundary fences do not. Height limits, flood controls, bushfire rules and front-boundary rules can still apply, and a fence on a flood control lot is not exempt development. Central Coast Council is the authority to confirm with before work starts. If it is a dividing fence, the Dividing Fences Act 1991 also applies.

Yes. We install pool barriers built to the NSW requirements, in glass pool fencing and aluminium pool fencing. A pool barrier must be at least 1.2 metres high from finished ground level, a boundary fence forming part of it must be 1.8 metres, and nothing climbable can sit within the 90 centimetre non-climbable zone. Gates open outwards and must self-close and self-latch from any open position.

Colorbond fencing is the most common choice because it does not rot, warp or need painting. aluminium slat fencing and aluminium tubular fencing handle salt well and keep an outlook open, and timber fencing still suits some older properties. Salt-laden air is hard on timber at ground level and on cheaper finishes.

Cost depends on the material, the height, the length of the run, the number of gates and any flood, foreshore or bushfire requirements on the lot. Because those vary block to block, we quote on site for free rather than guessing.

We fence Point Clare, Gosford, West Gosford, East Gosford, Kariong, Davistown, Woy Woy and the surrounding Central Coast. Full coverage is listed on our Where We Serve page.
